Worthy Women was established because our founder Sonshine Troche, idolized drugs, violence, men, and money for over 20 years. In 1993, Sonshine was on her way to prison for attempted murder. She last used drugs on July 4, 1997, and surrendered to Jesus on November 9, 1997. She started mentoring women in addiction in 2006 and witnessed many dying or rearrested because they had nowhere safe to go to, and minimum skills to support themselves legally.
As a result of one too many deaths, Sonshine started the Worthy Women Recovery Home, Inc. in September of 2008. Sonshine had worked for 20 years as a drywall hanger, worked in a female juvenile program,

POLICY: It is the Policy of WWT to be the advocate for residents, by notifying medical personnel of this Medication Policy and discussing all medication needs with the residents at scheduled appointments or on the phone.

PROCEDURE: Residents must sign the WWT Release of Information Form (ROI) authorizing trained WWT Personnel to be with the resident for medical appointments. WWT Staff will not be in a room for undressed examinations. Staff shall transport all medications.  WWT DOES NOT offer Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).

QUESTIONS about WORTHY WOMEN TRANSFORMATION

  1. ABOUT YOU: Do you desire to change through learning about God and reading the Bible.
  2. ABOUT WWT: 1-2 Year Residential Biblical Discipleship Addiction Recovery Program.
  3. ALCOHOL/DRUGS: Are prohibited with random drug screens. Respect it and be successful.
  4. CHILDREN: We do not have separate bedroom spaces for housing children with their mothers.
  5. CASE MANAGMENT: We guide you in accessing the resources you need to ensure your long-term success.
  6. CHORES: Daily chores such as cooking, cleaning, yard work, etc. are discussed with residents weekly.
  7. CLOTHING: Donors and local resources help us provide you with your clothing needs.
  8. COUNSELING: We provide Biblical Counseling, because the bible is the best resource to solve your problems.
  9. EMPLOYMENT: You are not allowed to be employed for the first six months at WWT.
  10. ENTERTAINMENT/FUN: Christian movies & music only. Weekly game/fun time with staff/volunteers.
  11. FAMILY: Only immediate family members will be able to visit and call after 60 days.
  12. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: You list all receipts and income monthly and learn to budget and save money.
  13. HEALTH INSURANCE: We will help you access the resources you need for your health insurance.
  14. HOMEWORK: 1-2 hours of homework (M-F) are normal, depending on your effort.
  15. HYGIENE ITEMS: We have many free items you may need. Your purchased items must be alcohol-free.
  16. JOB PLACEMENT: WWT collaborates with local resources for job search and placement.
  17. MEDICALLY ASSISTED TREATMENT: WWT is not a MAT Facility, but does allow prescribed Vivitrol in pill form.
  18. MISUNDERSTANDINGS: We address misunderstandings and discuss them as women following Jesus.
  19. MONEY: Your family must go to WWT staff first, if they want to leave money or approved items for you.
  20. NICOTINE: Nicotine and vape use is prohibited, including use by visitors prior to a visit.
  21. PHONE CALLS: Approved for family members after 60 days. WWT schedules medical/dental appointments.
  22. PHONE – CELL: Use of your cellphone to communicate with family members may be allowed after 5 months.
  23. PROGRAM FEE: For the first 6 months you pay no fees; from month 7-24 you will pay $90 weekly.
  24. RELATIONSHIPS: You must sign an agreement to abstain from romantic communications and sexual activity.
  25. RESPONSIBILITY: You must be willing to take responsibility seriously and we will help you.
  26. SEX OFFENDERS: We cannot accept sex offenders or allow visits from charged/convicted family members.
  27. SCHEDULE: WWT has weekly classes, groups, exercise time, hobbies, fun day, phone calls and free time.
  28. SUPERVISION: WWT has 24/7 supervision for at least the first 3 months.
  29. TRANSPORTATION: WWT will transport you to needed appointments, shopping, etc.
  30. VEHICLE: Driving your vehicle after 6 months depends on your maturity and approval from the Ex. Dir.
  31. VISITS: Family members only after 60 days. Overnight visits after 10 months with compliant attitude.
  32. WWT: WWT cannot accept Offenders on home detention, convicted violent offenders or sex offenders.

Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

  • We believe that God created Adam and Eve in His image, but when they were tempted and sinned in the garden, creation was alienated from God and cursed with sin. All of humanity is born under the curse of sin and as a result is deserving of divine judgement. It is only through the saving work of Jesus that we can be rescued from our rebellious state and have the wrath of God be satisfied.  (Romans 5:12-20;  Ephesians 2:3)

  • We believe that Salvation is by grace and faith alone in the finished work of Jesus (Ephesians 2:8-9) and that Jesus is the Only Way to have a right relationship with God.  (John 14:6)
  • We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential.  (Ephesians 1:13-14;  Titus 3:5;  Ezekial 36:26;  2 Corinthians 5:17)

  1. agree to abstain from all romantic communications/relationships as a resident at WWT.
  2. agree to honor and comply with all program expectations of WWT. 
  3. agree to abstain from being employed for the first 6 months at WWT.

  7. LIFE SKILLS – Learn great work habits, taking care of a home, yourself, setting goals, and how to help others.
  8. MICROSOFT OFFICE BASIC SKILLS – Learn basic Computer Skills to equip you for successful employment.
  9. MORAL RECONATION THERAPY – MRT® Learn honesty and trust, how to accept challenges, goal setting, etc.
  10. RELAPSE BIBLICAL PREVENTION STRATEGIES – Learn how to attain a life worth living.
  11. TASC/GED – High School dropouts can enroll to earn a High Scholl Equivalency Education Diploma.
  12. UNDERSTANDING TEMPTATIONS; CROSS TALKING – Short devotions for overcoming old thinking habits.

TO BECOME YOUR BEST VERSION OF A NEW CREATION, YOU WILL:

  1. Participate for 1-2 hours daily with homework reading and writing assignments (Monday – Friday)
  2. Memorize 1-2 Bible verses every week that will help you renew your thinking
  3. Participate in Weekly Biblical counseling, and participate in program activities
  4. Exercise four days per week, help cook healthy meals, and make time to take care of yourself
  5. Participate in Job skills training by volunteering and doing various projects
  6. Be financially accountable as you learn to budget wisely and pay off debts and or fees
  7. Participate in weekly fun activities and eat ice cream often : )

TO ENJOY AND ATTAIN YOUR FULL POTENTIAL AT WWT, YOU WILL:

  1. Respect the Worthy Women peaceful atmosphere, biblical morals, yourself, and others.
  2. Dress modestly with ear piercings only, and with modest clothing that is not torn or revealing.
  3. Use only the WWT house phone until cell phone privileges are earned and authorized.
  4. Abstain from any personal, dating, romantic and sexual relationships, even if you are legally married.
  5. Abstain from gambling and gambling paraphernalia.
  6. Not possess, or use alcohol including items containing alcohol: ex. perfume, mouthwash, lotion, etc.
  7. Abstain from, not possess, or use any illegal, unprescribed or unauthorized drugs.
  8. Not possess, or use nicotine products such as cigarettes, vapes, lighters, matches, vapes, etc.
  9. Not possess, or use inappropriate or sexually explicit pictures / materials, including jail or prison mail.
  10. Not possess or use weapons of any kind and lock sharp hygiene items in your locker.
